so… as you may have already heard, i am having some troubles right now.
i was sick last week - had a horrid cold and all that fun stuff. i’m on the last leg of that crap.

then this past sunday rolled around.
the vikings were on tv and i was making some digital stuff on my laptop.
it was cold in our house (cuz of boiler problems) so i was laying on the floor as close to the space heater as i could possibly get. then i fell asleep. which is probably good, cuz luckily then i missed the nasty ej henderson leg break.

anyhow… i woke up with a problem. i couldn’t really walk. i had what my grandma would refer to as a “hitch in my giddyup” (a lower back problem).

from that point on, i was forced to operate like i had a giant stick up my ass - i couldn’t bend over to pick things up, i couldn’t really walk.. i couldn’t even hardly get my own undies on after my shower on tuesday morning.

so i went to bed. i couldn’t turn over. i just couldn’t sleep period.
so i got up and tried out the recliner. which also didn’t work.
then i moved to the couch so as not to disturb chris.

i’m glad the blinds were all pulled in my house - i bet it would have been quite a circus to be watching through the windows what went down next.

lady was hogging the recliner. which, if anyone knows scotty - that renders him incapable to function. that chair is his. well anyhow - she’d ousted him from it somehow and snuggled up in it. so he was wandering around aimlessly while i tried to get myself onto the couch. i finally managed to bend down far enough to sit, then adjusted my pillow and got the blanket ready to pull up and around my neck. just as i sort of let myself fall to the couch. at which point scotty saw his opportunity and made a break for the little spot on the couch behind me (you know, that little sliver of room between my back and the back of the couch). apparently he wanted to spoon. the little sucker was onto the fact that due to my back injury i was rendered helpless to fight it. soo…. i laid there for a good 10 or 15 minutes i suppose.

by this time it was almost 2 am.
finally i mustered up enough uumph to reach back and flip him around the other way so his head was down at the other end of the couch - away from me. then i worked my way up off the couch and got him up on the other couch. i tucked him in with a pillow and blanket, and he was set for the night.

i wandered back over to the big couch and went through the painful (painful to watch mostly, i’m sure) process of getting back into position on the couch to fall asleep. i finally did, and just when i took that “thank you jesus for letting me get to this point where i can finally sleep” i heard lady start to snore. incessantly. ugh.

i finally covered up my head with a pillow and drifted off to sleep.

…only to have my phone bling and wake me up with a notification of a completely pointless dm on twitter at 3:39 am.

it was the longest short night i’ve had in ages.
